Miraphone Factory-vented Valves
Do current models of Miraphone tubas with factory-vented valves still have the little nipples on the vent holes?

Hmm? The Miraphone 5050 euphonium with factory vented valves still have the nipples on the bottom valve caps. Strange that the tubas don't.bububassboner wrote:NoMark wrote:Do current models of Miraphone tubas with factory-vented valves still have the little nipples on the vent holes?

So on new tubas the vent holes are just flush with the valve casing?bububassboner wrote:NoMark wrote:Do current models of Miraphone tubas with factory-vented valves still have the little nipples on the vent holes?

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

My Miraphone is about 30 years old, but the valves are vented. Not sure if it was done at the factory, but they are just tiny holes, no nips and looks different from 'bug's picture above.

The picture is of my 1974 185-4U CC. And yes, I still have the plastic linkages.

Re: Miraphone Factory-vented Valves
The 1977 Miraphone 186 I owned had vented rotors just like bort's, no nipples (tee hee hee...), just the hole in the casing. Although I have no way of knowing if that was factory or not, to be honest. But each rotor was vented that same way.

For what it's worth, my Firebird manufactured in 2009 and bought new came factory-vented and is 100% nipple-free.
