Center city brass in Alabama

Got an unexpected treat today at Alabama all state band convention.a short performance by the ccbq. Fabulous! Craig Knox was amazing sporting a mw 2250 with bloke piece. Awesome group!

They and the American Brass Quintet are the most polished quintets I have heard on recordings.

Just can't get excited about bass bone in quintet. Call me a Neanderthal ...

Are you sure it wasn't a MW3450?

Can't say enough about his playing.crazy hard plog piece. Just perfect in every way.

I question that is was the 2250 F tuba because:

1) I saw them perform on Wednesday in Kansas City. He was using a MW3450.
2) Based on a quick google search of images of Center City he's only ever pictured with small CC tubas with that group.

I certainly follow your logic. I would guess as a mw artist he likely has access to several.the rep for the tour could also be playing a role.Many factors unknown to us. Badass of a player,nonetheless...

I guess he could have miss heard me in loud convention room.i said is that a 2250 with a bloke piece. He said "yes".but yes, that is the convention floor and that is a 3450.
