What kind of sound do you want?
Is it a big venue?
What do you have?
Are you the only tuba player?

How do you like the Conn? Are you having problems you're trying to fix with a mouthpiece change?

Let's start with what MPs you're using now, and what issues you may be having. The worst thing you can do is pick a MP simply because someone else uses that model. Each of us has a different facial structure so what works for one person may be a disaster for someone else.
With that said, I can tell you our Section has been transitioning to larger MPs. Several of us gathered at Baltimore Brass not long ago and tried the many different ones they had- in some cases the ones we got replaced MPs that people had used since high school. A few things had changed over the years......... and we sounded much better at the next rehearsal.
The right way is to try different ones until you find what makes a difference for you, preferably with someone knowledgeable there to help out, as we did.
