It will be interesting to hear the story on that one!

I'm no repairman, but it certainly doesn't seem like a total loss. I'm real curious what scenario happened to make the owner be able to sell this on eBay.

That said, if UPS wants to declare my Rudy a total loss and buy me a new one (Yeah, RIGHT!), I won't complain there either. :)

Doesn't look like a Thor to me.

Looks like 2141* and not a thor. Notice the lack of an "inner bow". Plus it looks quite "thin" compared to a thor.

Maybe that's the damage. ..a Thor shipped, 2250 arrived. It's a miracle.

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.

Can't imagine that!

But it seems someone contacted the seller as they re-posted it:

At the current price, it is quite the deal, even if it needs a grand of work.
I wonder if it is completely legit- it looks like the seller hasn't sold much, particularly with musical instruments.

From that first picture, the main tuning slide looks bent backwards a bit. Maybe just an illusion? But depending on what's really wrong with it, fixing the bell and bottom bow might be the easy parts compared to broken braces, bent slides, and who knows what with the valves. I'm willing to bet it's far more than a grand to get it fixed, but still has a long way to go before it's in the "not worth it" range.

That could just be an issue of perspective, hard to tell from the angle the picture was taken. Most of the small tubing looks good, though. Figure pull the bottom bow and roll out the bell, maybe a couple other minor things at most.

I won this auction for $4500. Apparently the seller bought it off UPS. I will be fixing it up for myself and will share some pictures when it is done. Something got shipped my way, so hopefully it's not a scam.

Hope it works out for you! (And hope it isn't further damaged in shipping this time around!)
