But the drones in bagpipes can do a LOT of damage...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Tic season is a definite downgrade, but downgrading them between two rocks is an upgrade for me.

A lady where I work rolled her computer forward to 2050. It expired and permanently deleted all her scheduled meetings.

They were all replaced with the message, "You should live so long... " :P

I recommend you don't shoot yourself in the head, be it via Pall Mall or cheeseburger...
I have been working for years to combine the two ideas and create a semi-automatic cheeseburger delivery system wherein as soon as one cheeseburger is in my mouth, the next one loads into my hand in preparation.

There's a whole wikipedia page devoted to the subject of cigarette smoking and weight loss. The gist of it seems to be (along with all the historical information etc.), while nicotine does suppress appetite and boost metabolism and one can easily see how that would help burn fat, it's harder to see that smokers as a rule are actually less fat. Caffeine naturally boosts metabolism in a similar if not identical way. Casual investigation shows some general agreement that it works -- but it doesn't work, in the sense that drinking coffee would be an effective way to lose weight - it isn't.

It doesn't seem very likely to me that the epidemic of obesity has anything to do with reduced stimulant use. Ask the fat kids if they quit smoking or what. I don't have a clue what's causing it, but my guess is that it's going to turn out to be a combination of things - and if and when we uncover the culprits, there's going to be pharmaceutical and food industry pushback on the scale of fossil fuel vs. climate change, tobacco vs. health effects of cigarettes, etc.

[edit - there used to be a notion that smoking would enlarge your lungs. There's a classic photo of some bicycle racers sitting on the ground puffing away on cigarettes getting ready for a big climb. The guys at the gym need to get the word about smoking before, not after.]

Semi-Automatic Burgers. Just don't change the firing pin, or they'll be illegal...
