The Movies you like?

I asked in an earlier post about what kind of music do you people at Tubenet like. Now my question is, what is your fav, movie and your fav types of movies. I like war. Platoon and Patten are the best. I liked Saving Private Ryan (Hint my profile pic from the movie.) So people what kind of movies do you like and what is your fav movie.

This is a VERY short list, in no particular order at all....this is just the order in which movies came to my mind.

Cheryl....is Garden State really that good?? I've heard some good things, but haven't yet seen it....as a lifelong NJer, I must admit I'm curious.

Crap. Add that to the list of FANTASTIC movies I forgot. I don't think a movie has ever been made with that much star power, before or since.

Musical Drama: Evita - Madonna finally proved she had talent
Criminal: Casino - not as cliche as Goodfellas but a true work of cinematic art
Sappy: Driving Miss Daisy
Pilot: Crime Story
Romantic: Chocolot (including Doc Ock Alfred Molina)
Sci-Fi: Mad Max/The Road Warrior (don't even lump Thunderdome in)

I have 5 different versions of Alice in Wonderland/Looking Glass on DVD!

I rent a lot, but beyond my growing Alice collection and a few obscure films, most of my DVD collection is music.

You forgot to mention "Hollywood Knights", "Roadhouse", "Animal House", and "The Blues Brothers". I know, I know... tubachris never heard of any of 'em

Favorite movies: Animal House and The Blues Brothers

Favorite part of ANY movie: The opening of Patton. I love that march in the beginning.

Can't say I've ever seen the first two, but yep, definitely should've put Animal House and Blues Brothers on the list.

And Shrek.

And Airplane.

Believe it or not, those movies are even funnier if you are from New Jersey (well...the first three, anyway...)

Another good Jersey movie is "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle." It is very stupid humor, but I loved it. They're successful stoners(oxymoron?) and they get the munchies one night, and it turns into an adventure involving everything New Jersey. I thought it was great.
As for favorite movies, I like alot of movies, some comedies, some action, some sci-fi. I think we all just like to be entertained and maybe taken to another place for a little bit with our movies. Having stress and other things makes it necessary to relax and either read a book or watch a movie. I also like movies that make you think a little different, like movies with the huge twist at the end that no one could've predicted, that make you question, at least for a second, if what you saw was possible.

Someone explained the premise to me, and I refused to see it...I grew up in the Hoboken area, and know of at least 3 or 4 White Castles within a few miles of where they started. The fact that they decided they needed to go to Cherry Hill for White Castle is something I just couldn't get past.

For those of you unfamiliar with New Jersey...Hoboken is a tiny little town right on the Hudson river, directly across from downtown Manhattan. Cherry Hill is in south Jersey, a few miles from Philadelphia. It's about a 2 hour ride from one to the other.
