Alan Bear MMVI Tuba Mouthpiece
Hi All,
Has anyone got any experience of this mouthpiece would it work on a Besson 994 in a Brass Band I have been playing on a PT88+ for about 8 years great big round sound when playing down low but feel when playing faster passages it gets a bit woolly ( i know practice more ) i have and the fast stuff is not as slick as i would like it, i tried my old VB 18 for a few rehearsals faster passages more clarity but not the same sound as the PT, what i am looking for is the sound of the PT88+ but with better articulation, also tried a PT50+ and a MF3 not as good as the PT88+ for me
the other MP that i would like to know its suitability for a 994 BBb in a Brass Band is one of Blokes not got a clue what one might be suitable symphony/grand what shank etc.
Thanks for your input much appreciated

Re: Mouthpiece Help
I'd second the Dennis Wick or try a Blokepiece or a smaller PT- maybe a 44?

Re: Mouthpiece Help
i have played a 994 with the PT88+ and it is a great mp for that tuba , but i found i had to do a lot of practise to make it work ,but would strongly suggest trying a VB 7 as that is what i used before the PT 88, still a great sound with better clarity .
