Here we go!
This will be my last official post to promote SERTEC. The conference begins on Thursday at 2:30 and will run through about 6:00 on Saturday. All events will be held in the Performing Arts Center at the University of Georgia in lovely Athens, GA.
I had mentioned in my post about NERTEC how these events can really serve as a great motivator and a vehicle for jump-starting our enthusiasm for our craft. I have been to both MWRTEC and NERTEC and both conferences were exceptionally good. I have to confess that I was anxious to see what the turnout at NERTEC would be like, and I was just a little surprised that the numbers were a little bit low, considering that the conference was free.
In the case of NERTEC, our Rich Uncle covered the budget of this event. No such luck for SERTEC... so I'm really hoping that people will come in large numbers. I think that Mike Forbes had about 275 registrations for MWRTEC. I would be elated to see a similar turnout in Athens and hope that if you are on the fence about whether or not you're planning on coming, that you'll join us.
Look at it this way... it will be the best $30 lesson you'll ever have and the lesson will last 52 hours! There are 24 scheduled events, which I have listed below. Surely, there will be something for everyone! The weather is supposed to be beautiful and Athens is in bloom. It is hard NOT to have a good time in our fair city!
Okay, I'm done. God, I feel like I'm running for office! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or refer to the website: http://www.arches.edu.uga/~dzerkel/sertec/index.html
Looking forward to seeing you at the end of the week!
Best regards,
Dave Zerkel

Out of curiosity, could you tell which dealers will be at the conference? I know I'm going but I'd like to see who's going to be there and plan what time for whichever dealers will be there. Kinda anxious to try out the Miraphone 1291 if it's there.

Dillon Music had one up at NERTEC. I believe it sold, but I had a chance to play it for a bit. What a great low register! My low range pretty much stinks, but it even made me sound decent!Kinda anxious to try out the Miraphone 1291 if it's there.
If there happens to be one down in GA, I would recommend taking the time to play one. Very nice horns.
