The instructor was so pleased with his performance that she encouraged me to follow through with the agility courses. I was running him through his warm-ups prior to the start of his last class when I decided to see how he'd do if I tried to run him through the drills without a leash. The little stinker obeyed every verbal command and stuck with me like glue through the routine! I'm very proud of my little puppy at this point.

For some reason, I'm reminded of this morning's comics. Who knows what the real answer is? I don't.

A tenor and baritone saxophone really are different instruments, though. That's partly because their respective compasses are rigidly defined - there's no unusually low tenor part - so there's no ambiguity about what part you're playing. And because they play a much broader role in music, including popular music performance that supports very individualistic playing; you could imagine sax quartet situations where a player might indeed want a similar sounding alto and soprano, but that's a relatively insignificant market segment so to speak. The bass/contrabass tuba on the other hand is a distinction that matters only in a legit context, if even there, so ... they're variations on the same instrument, like an A clarinet.

You may have to remove a ball to save one.

You could unionize yourself and go out on a tubenet strike. But be careful as the TNFJ Riot Police are known to be tough on strikers.

Ditto. I had customers by this morning to drop off/pick up stuff and spent the rest of the morning resetting the band trailer for the family picnic/concert/fireworks this afternoon/evening.

At 3pm I'll be setting up our 550 square foot performance canopy... starting the cooking fires at 4pm and preparing for the picnic at 5pm. The concert is at 6:30. We'll play until around 8:30 and them have about 30 minutes to take down the canopy before the fireworks start.

When I get back home around 10pm I'm sure I'll be ready for a beer!

By-the-way... I also scrubbed the tarnish off the 48K this morning. That's what I'll be playing tonight! 52 pounds of brass on my left shoulder for two hours will make me 'double-ready' for that beer later tonight.

Yes... this is a brutal day. But... I look forward to it every year!
