Craigslist in a junk shop with other instruments. Looks a lot like a York monster Eb bugle but they can't find a maker & measured the bell at 17 in & it comes with holes so I'm out.
...Super cheap though... $44.

That is what I was thinking, but I thought I saw ridges, rather than smooth/rounded in another photo. (Maybe scratches ?).

Just the 2nd one, blown up on my phone. Still see lines...Somewhat difficult to make out. Might be tarnish/lighting/picture quality/eye tricks. My monster Eb sized BBb Holton has a 19 inch bell. The Grand Rapids is a 20. Did some have 17 inch bells? The ferrules certainly seem to look more Holton than York. (And the simple, rope-like engraving that my BBb has probably could easily get lost under uneven finish , dents, scratches & tarnish).

Curiously, the price seems to be creeping slowly upwards...

Did you specifically ask about the tuba bugle, or just look at the listing price? I believe $68 is for some other instrument. They could raise their price based on "interest" if they try to go by that whole supply/demand thing.

The smallest I've seen on a York monster is an 18" bell. It might be a Pan American Eb, as those featured the plain ferrules and many different bell diameters.

Ah, quite so-- I made that so crucial mistake of looking at the pictures without reading any text and drawing my own conclusions.Tabor wrote:Did you specifically ask about the tuba bugle, or just look at the listing price?
