Re: Update Update
Depends on where you move..........
Nine states have true no-fault laws and require all policies in the state to be true no-fault: Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota and Utah. Three other states give drivers a choice between a true no-fault policy and a traditional policy: Kentucky, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Oh Joe, if this is what you post, I'd hate to see the things that don't make the cut.
My frame of reference is Maryland, where I lived most of my life, which is NOT a no-fault state. But they've made all kinds of screwy changes since I moved out of there, so who knows what they'll do next. I just know that when I got in an accident in Baltimore (nearly totalled my car), it was most certainly NOT my fault.

Hi-
In a town near me-East Aurora, NY (Known for home of the Roycrofters, Fisher Price Factory, etc.), these street signs have began to appear and nobody knows who put them there:

Re: Update Update
Just to clarify - my state has had no fault for a long time. What these so called "crash taxes" are is a way for local police & fire dept. to grab revenue. You get charged for every cop, cop car, fireman, fire truck, paramedic and ambulance that shows up - regardless of if you even called 911 or if any or all are even needed. You have no control over who or what or how much stuff shows up. They figure the insurance companies have lots of money so they'll pay, but a lot of insurance companies won't pay - so the bill goes to you. A lot of people apparently won't pay so they then stick collection companies on them.tofu wrote: ...and don't get me started on the latest trend of "crash taxes" - even if it's not your fault and some idiot crashes into your car - you can now expect some towns to send you a bill for being involved in an accident in their town.
So you could get hit by someone and it's not your fault but still have to pay for the responders and if you don't pay have the collection companies harass you or worse damage your credit.
My town has very little crime - it ranks as one of the lowest in the nation - we do have a lot of cops and I can tell you that when something on a slow night happens like a fender bender - they will all abandon the doughnut shops in town & show up in force and the fender bender drivers will get billed for every one of them - even if they all stand around and shoot the breeze.

Re: Update Update
I got some Duck Dynasty gummy ducks from the Walmart movie candy bin. They are good. I was hoping to get more, but a search on Amazon, Google, and Bing produced nothing. Maybe they are limited edition, collectors item, and I should not have eaten them. Well, I still have the empty box and am taking offers for this exceptionally rare item. Serious offers only, please.

Schleppy has been more than generous in overlooking the occasional foray by contributors to this thread into forbidden territory, but even he has a tipping point. It would be a shame to see this gigantic and mostly enjoyable thread get the slammer after all this time.

So living here in the east side Los Angeles has gotten worse, just now some punks came into my apartments parking lot and started smashing windows with crow bars, after my neighbor confronted them they pulled out a hand gun and ran away. The owner and management company both said its not their problem and will not be fixing the windows, to add insult to injury LAPD said they're not coming to investigate and that they will mail a form to fill out.

I am a gun owner. The problem is that if they shoot you they just run away and hide in the hood never to be found. If you shoot them you wind up in jail. Doesn't make sense to me.
