Tuba on the Colbert Report!

Post by Timmm »

Check out this great performance by Jon Batiste and Stay Human on the Colbert Report! Ibanda, from what I've seen here and in various other videos, is a fantastic tuba player and the group really knows how to entertain a crowd.

Interview is around 10:50 and music starts around 15:30.

FUN is definitely the perfect word to describe that! :D :D :D
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Wow, that's good playing. Very good sense of timing, especially while holding the horn standing up. Is it a CC tuba? Is he classically trained as well? The band, of course sounded great, but they must have a great sound engineer as well with such a seamless transition from the indoor to the outdoor.

I believe the tuba player and vocalist/pianist went to Juliard. The others may have as well, but I'm not sure.

That doesn't surprise me. He sounds very refined.
