Difference Between B-Flat Tuba and C Tuba
Is there a difference a B-Flat Tuba and a C-Tuba? I have only played B-Flat tubas throughout my time playing musical instruments because my school corporation's band department has always bought just B-Flat tubas. So I don't know what the difference is.

More like 7 feet, I believe. The C above BBb, in the same Helmholtz pitch notation, is just "C" - CC is near an octave below. So what we usually call a "CC" tuba is properly a "C" tuba.KiltieTuba wrote:pjdicris wrote:KiltieTuba wrote: unless we are talking about the Bb and C tubas, which only have a one foot difference.

My bad, I don't know why I put "B-Flat." I meant to use BBb. I want to know the difference between C Tubas and BBb Tubas.TubaPresident wrote:Is there a difference a B-Flat Tuba and a C-Tuba? When in doubt, start with Wiki (with all the caveats and grains-of-salt appertaining thereto) ... so:TubaPresident wrote:My bad, I don't know why I put "B-Flat." I meant to use BBb. Is there a sound difference?
I have never played a CC, here in Germany are nearly none.

I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.
