+1 on Saving Private Ryan. Hymn to the Fallen is set for orchestra and chorus, available for public performance . I've played it twice. Lovely writing - lyric, mournful, dignified line against the rest of the orchestra with a nice Major 7th leap at the climax (c to b). Some fruitcake did a hack job for band and just omitted the whole thing. No idea why. It's in the wrong key anyway. Forewarned is forearmed.

The Haunted Palace, a Vincent Price movie has a load of dark sinister melody in the tuba part, and it's very well played.Ed
