His autobiography has quite a few, as does his solo LP on Crest.
I'll dig it out and scan it maybe tomorrow.

Every tuba player should ready this book. Harvey led an extraordinary life at the perfect time for a free-lance musician. He took advantage of it and blazed a path for us. Read the book!!

Well now, that certainly makes me feel good about my choice of Tubas, even if I don't play mine anywhere near as well as he did. Thank you, Dr. Phillips, for being the inspiration you were to so many musicians.Of all the things written by or about him was a quote in the T.U.B.A. journal.
Speaking about his venerable Conn 2J, he observed
" Nobody ever told me to get a bigger horn."

I got a 2J a few weeks ago. I am impressed with it. It punches above its weight.goodgigs wrote: Little pee shooter tubas can be quite enough if you practice for a year or so.

Here are two photos from LP jackets:
One shows his tuba in its original form, lacquered.
The other is after he had it overhauled and silver-plated.
Let's try not to get hung up on "princess-and-the-pea" spelling issues; there's way too much to talk about in that department.

In the quest for pictures, you might reach out to Jerry Young. At ITEC there was a presentation at the banquet with a great many pictures of him. If Jerry doesn't have them, he knows who does.
