I started to post this in the Off Topic forum because it originated as a response to the Atlanta Symphony contract dispute but I decided to post it here since it is really a broad treatise on the value of music in the life of a pro who sometimes had trouble paying the rent. I'm not a pro but I sure do identify with this statement.
