B&S BBb Tuba with Alex Bell

Well.......this could be (and most likely IS) a great horn, but what worries me is the shipping cost that is listed! $27.40
There ain't no way in hell that you can ship a tuba through UPS for $27.40, but there is a bid now & it will sell. Anybody from here bidding on this horn?

Give the seller a shout. At the current price... perhaps he's including the shipping. He may have plunked in that low shipping cost 'just because'. He made a serious mistake in the previous listing. Maybe this is a mistake, too.

admittedly, I LIKE the pictures...and the funky edge on the front of the bottom bow cap (even though that's a pet peeve) didn't bother me that much...

Sorry bloke, but I gotta call you out on this one. Anyone buying tubas from you or anyone else online is initially "paying for a set of pictures".

This B&S/Alex BBb tuba looks beautiful, and was obviously overhauled/refurbished, being taken apart, dents removed, put back together again, cleaned, buffed and re-lacquered. In addition, someone found a (more expensive) Alexander bell to go on it.
I think $2500 is actually quite a decent price for such a tuba (no I didn't buy it -- I don't have the money). I know you and others have spoken very well of those B&S stencil tubas regarding their craftsmanship and playing qualities. And I seem to remember you selling similar tubas (refurb VMI, M-W 20, M-W 25, Mira 186, etc. tubas), usually in the 3-5k range.
