King Sousaphone mouthpipe help

Post by MrBasseyPants »

All,
My King Sousaphone came to me with a sort of ligature around the mouthpipe that wasn't soldered on. Of course, it fell off somewhere this weekend and I can't find it.

It looks like there has been some repair to the mouthpipe in the past....however, I am in need of quick fix now. Any suggestions?

The picture below shows the mouthpipe detail....I want to use this horn for tuba Christmas this weekend. When I used it today, I was able to just hold the neck in place, but I don't think I will be able to do that next weekend.

Any help would be appreciated (if you know of a quick solution).

That's a good idea! That is probably what was on there before.
