Has anyone seen the skit of Bert and Simon the Soundman playing in the park? Someone was asking me if this was a specific song. I didn't know it.

That's Uncle Beer playing, filling in for Dave Bargeron. They wanted a simple melody, so I just cooked it up. That was done about 30 years ago.

Again, many thanks.

I was right there on set when they were doing it, and it was interesting seeing how they do it: puppets up around head level so they didn't have to strain. The lewd comments the puppets were making between takes was something to behold, too.

Uncle Beer - how cool to play tuba on Sesame Street! Do you know who played tuba for Telly Monster?

That was funny - I was mentioning my son played tuba and this is what came up in topic from the person I was talking to. She thought is was a famous tuba piece.

It took me a little while to track down the clip. I was thinking - famous tuba piece on Sesame Street? What where they going to play?

It sounds wonderful!

Nice clean playing with a solid centered sound. I think I've seen that clip before; the muppet 'mouthing' the tuba sound is hilarious.

Yep: Hirsbrunner HB2P. Not my favorite axe, and I eventually took it apart and used it for parts. I know: foolish youth.
