Driving NY to Minneapolis this weekend

Post by bort »

Hey everybody,

I'm driving from NY to Minneapolis over the 3-day weekend. Anything interesting tuba (or non-tuba) pit-stops to make along the way? I've done parts of this drive before, but never the whole thing all at once. Will be alone and bored in a moving truck...any suggestions? I won't have a tuba with me, but will happily hop off the highway and play some duets? :tuba:

Safe travels to you Bort. After you get somewhat settled, give me a shout. There are a couple of us here in the Twin Cities, we're excited to have another. I've also recently been appointed the music director for the St. Paul Police Band and I'd love to have another tuba player in the midst. :tuba:

ronr, I'm already well through PA, sorry. Joe had an excellent idea in that, but it came too late for me. Which one did you get?

I've been looking for a 3/4 sized horn for a long time, but don't want to pay the price for the small Yamaha. Dillon had a Weril, J680 I think it is, that I thought I'd take for a test blow.
