I came across an interesting sousaphone today. There was no serial number that I could find and the only marking was the word 'Beltone' on the back of the bell and a nearly indistinguishable logo beneath. Maybe a bird? I didn't think to get a picture but I may go back for one if no one knows anything about it.
Was this a stencil brand? Anyone know anything at all?

Re: Beltone
I don’t know about Beltone, but there are 3 entries for Belltone instruments in my gallery, one oval Bb Tenorhorn and 2 BBb tubas.
I don’t remember the discussions of the Belltone brand, but I have noted that some say these instruments were made by Amati. However the thumb ring flanges tell very precisely that the maker was B&S.

Re: Beltone
It may very well have been Belltone. There was quite a lot of wear on the finish so it was difficult to make out.
