I was pleasantly surprised two have two of my favorite worlds collide this morning. While at church, where I have the privilege of serving as a pastor, we sang the song, "Second Chance," by the Rend Collective Experiment (very encouraging song, by the way).
After the gathering, I was chatting with some folks near our bookstore, and out of the corner of my eye I saw the cover of the album from which that song comes, and I blurted out, "No way!" . . .
See that guy second from the right, at the bottom, holding an old "raincatcher"? First of all, what is he doing on the cover of an album by a contemporary worship band from Northern Ireland?! Second, that sure looks like Herman Conrad with the very first Sousaphone! . . .
Look who showed up for church today!
