Advice for microphone

I would like to buy a good microphone with bell clip for my tuba, but I don't know anything about mics. Do you have advices for some type or model?

It works great, but be advised that clipping a mic onto your bell will pick up other sounds as well, like the valves thumping. Still, the clip means that you can attach it to a stand or anything else.

Watch your wallet...

Clip on mics are for real-time music (not recording studios). Eventually, someone is going to bump into it and whack it.

I bought an "affordable" (decent...certainly not studio quality) kick mic (like one would use next to a bass drum) for my rig.

I would spend maximum €300 for the mic. Yes, I need to a clip-on mic for real-time music, not for recording.

I would consider your budget to be my absolute *"maximum" budget.

I built a sturdy microphone holder, which is also adjustable to various bell diameters. This allows me to use a standard microphone, and to not require a "phantom power" box...one more thing which can break.

Something else that I purchased was a wireless transmitter. Although (yes) it's "one more thing that can break",
- it greatly frees me up on stage, and
- greatly reduces the chances of damage (i.e. me or someone else yanking on, stepping on, or tripping on cords).

*That having been said, money is quickly hyperinflating, and is becoming more-and-more worthless...so - were I to buy something today, rather than five years ago - I might find that I would need to spend more than I did at that time.

I use an AMT, http://www.appliedmicrophone.com/. It works very well; but it's not cheap.
