Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

$350? I did better than that playing for funerals on Saturday morning when I was living in Saigon (2006-08). And they didn't really pay me. I got front of the line privileges for playing with the band (after the deceased's family) at the reception following the burial for a fantastic buffet meal. They had maybe 15 players and we read off a piano score. We played music before the funeral then we rode in a bus to the cemetery, where we played music which we were supposed to memorize. Then we came back to the church to walk for lunch. For the amount of food I ate, it wasn't too bad. Doing 3-4 funerals a month for 10 months, at 10 bucks a meal, I know I did better than $350. (My "day job" was teaching in a university, which occasionally had me working on Saturdays.)
