Tuba Player's Pets

Post by Mark »

This thread viewtopic.php?t=7123&highlight= got me to thinking about pets.

My wife and I have two beautiful Golden Retrievers. It seems to me that dogs fit best with tuba players. Cats are for cellists and oboists.

What do you think?

I own a labradoddle named Sousa. I love the reaction I get to his name. He likes to sit at my feet as I practice.

The only pet I've ever owned is this psycho Wheaten Terrier.

She sounds like a huge dog, even though she's only 32 lbs. The UPS guy won't come to the door any more because of her.

If I weren't single and had someone to take care of a pet while I'm gone, I'd have a pet of some kind.

I don't currently have any pets b/c I am in college and my family had to move last year and probably will move again this year. But before we moved we had a Black Lab named Aroura ( nickname Roarie) anywhere from 2-7 Rabbits. Tons of fish and two parakeets. So I am feeling very pet deprived right now. And I would have to say that dogs are my favorite pets although as bloke mentioned they take a lot of time and energy. They are worth it though.

Wish I had picts, I'll try to get some.
My basset, Frodo, was 55+ lbs last I checked, and he's huge. I cannot imagine a 68 pounder. It solid black and tall. His skin is starting to loosen and fold, as he ages, but it's still pretty tight. Most don't get that he's a basset until he speaks. He's all hunting dog at heart, and loves to run. Too bad I don't have time to train and hunt him.

My Sheltie (shetland sheep dog), Jack, thinks he's human too, but acts a lot like a cat at times. His crouching and pouncing in particular. While the Frodo never met a stranger, Jack can take weeks to warm up to new people. But that's better, it used to take months.

I wish I had time for a dog, but I don't. But I really like cats and have two middle-aged ones. We sog together on the couch when I get home from work, before I go to rehearsal.

My dog Zappa. She has recently been cured of cancer by the Eternal Father. I haven't seen her in three weeks because I am at my mother's recovering from reconstructive knee surgery.

Here she is in my studio writing a song that is going in Cheech and Chong's new movie. She is an English Shepherd, an American breed.

Biscuit

Post by TubaTodd »

Here is Biscuit.....

Image

http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=1 ... 426&p=2552

He's semi-famous. He's the third most popular dog (out of 60,000+) on Dogster.com. "Bark Magazine" did an article last month about Dogster and they featured Biscuit's picture in the magazine.

Biscuit is my bud!!!!!

By the way, we recently found a tune on the internet called "Squeaky Deaky" that was written to make dogs happy. Biscuit will run from any room of the house to whereever this song is playing. It is addicting!!!
