Re: DSO Tchaikovsky 5th now!
Thanks! I caught the fourth movement. Good orchestra, and Slatkin is a very fine conductor. In the early 1970's, my daughter studied harp here in the San Francisco Bay area with the now principal in this orchestra, the Detroit Symphony.
I have some nice memories associated with Tchaik 5--------it's one of the works we played in California All-State orchestra in 1954. I played trumpet II. (The principal trumpet went on to the Oakland Symphony under Harold Farberman.) A 16 year old Roger Bobo was the tubist in the All-State orchestra.
