euphonium tuba quartets

Post by TubaJane »

I am looking for easy to moderate difficulty level euphonium tuba quartets for a community group. The euphonium parts need to be in both bass clef and treble Bb. If at all possible some sort of tie in to a movie would be great, but not necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would be happy to arrange something and write it out for you guys, or split the writing out duties with someone. I would do this for free.

How about the theme from James Bond 007? The tuba part would be easy to conceptualize, might be hard to find enough notes to fill three euphonium parts, but it's an idea. Another idea is Star Wars type themes, I loved those. Name some favorite movie themes and I will tell you if I can arrange it.

These are not totally movie related, but Stephen Bulla did 3 sets of arrangements for 4-part tuba-euphonium ensembles that are on the easier side and are fantastic (also include Bb treble euph parts). Tuba 1 parts are well within the range of a Bb tuba. They're called Quartets for Low Brass, and are in 3 volumes: Vol 1 - Traditional Favorites, Vol 2 - Spirituals, Vol 3 - Fanfares and Anthems. They are available from Cimmarron Music here (you'll have to scroll down to find them) http://cimarronmusic.com/music-tep.cfm.

I was going to recommend this site too. "The Pirates of the Caribbean" is a fun arrangement. I played this with my two teenage grand kids who play trombone and euph. There's even a video link for some of them.
