It's interesting you mention the "D" because Jeff Anderson said that he struggled with that on my piston Neptune as well (which I recently sold). I haven't had any hassles with the "D" or "G". I thin those two notes might be a bit better with the smaller pipe.

Well I'll tell you, I've owned the "almost" BATs, but after I sell my F and my Mack Brass 410, I'm getting myself a BAT such as yourself, especially if I'm going down to a one horn operation. I'm thrilled you love the horn. That's great to hear.

Thanks everyone!
On mine, it's not so much that the D is a problem note, it's just not the same instant gratification that comes with every other note -- it takes a minor amount of effort to center it, and is really not a big deal at all. The G, on the other hand, is monstrous, effortless, and can seriously do some damage. I'm using the medium-sized leadpipe right now. Also, the 4th valve tubing has a few dents and flat spots on it. Nothing tragic, but it's not perfectly round, and perhaps those disturbances in the airflow are just enough to mess up that note a little bit. Seems like something that could probably be fixed pretty easily when I can get around to it.barry grrr-ero wrote:It's interesting you mention the "D" because Jeff Anderson said that he struggled with that on my piston Neptune as well (which I recently sold). It might be worth seeing if 1-3 pull works better on that low D. It will provide a tiny bit more resistence than the larger bore 4th valve. You could even try 1-2-5.bort wrote:Thanks everyone!
