Big Holton with King valveset at Baltimore Brass
Have any of you folks played on this 345 Holton with the King valveset and slides, and, if so, what were your impressions on it? Thanks, Ed

Hi Tubenetters,
Sorry it took so long to respond but I have been out of town and just saw this thread. The valve set on the Holton is actually a Holton valve set, a 1-2-3 original with a matched #2 Holton valve grafted onto the 3rd valve. We did this years ago here at Baltimore Brass Co. and Albert Houde did the work. The confusion I think comes from the fact that you noticed the King finger buttons which I think we put on to replace the very small buttons Holton used to use. So the bore size on the website is actually correct.
Thanks for ;listening,

Wouldn't that be .748" (effectively .750) rather than .478"?? .478" is smaller than the diameter of the shank of an American shank mouthpiece. The listing says it has a King valve set on it. This is what the baltimorebrass.net listing for the horn says:David Fedderly wrote:Hi Tubenetters,

Thank you for the heads up about the website. It has now been changed to say Holton. OOPS!
