I'm posting for a friend whose high school band program needs a new hard case for their Miraphone 186 BBb.
From his email to me: "This instrument gets transported on buses and moving on a variety of surfaces fairly often, so I need something hearty."
Any suggestions? I'm especially seeking the advice of Band Directors out there who have replaced cases for 186 BBb tubas or similar instruments recently.
Thanks

Try this:
http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/ ... &c=79&s=79" target="_blank
It was made specifically for the Miraphone 186 and Yamaha YBB-641

Hi Tubenetters,
I would also recommend the MTS 1209V made in Elkhart, IN. Should be able to get one through their local dealer or other shops.

I have an MTS case and it works fine. It is well built and durable.
