Must be a slow day out there in 'tuba-land'. I was away from my computer for well over an hour and there are no new posts. WAKE UP!

I put out nine tomato plants today. I also brought the pool pump and filter out of storage and hooked them up. Tomorrow I'll probably be moving the tropicals out of the greenhouse to poolside. Grilled burgers tonight and drank the last of my Leinenkugel's Christmas Vanilla Porter.

It tried snowing here yesterday afternoon/evening. But today is sunny and mid-60's! I like it!

Currently kicking myself. I was nailing those high A's in the practice room with no problem. I went to play it in the studio recital and did not totally nail them. I think I'm going to punish myself with 5 hours of practice today.

I'm playing in the pit orchestra for a local high school musical (The King and I), and all of a sudden for opening night they ask me to play out of the bassoon book in addition to the tuba book for about half the show. Sight reading on opening night was pretty nerve wracking.

I bet you nailed though, making all tuba players look like magicians in the eyes of the rest of the orchestra. Way to Go! :tuba:

We just got a second citation for "unusually high water consumption" from the city. There has been no change in water consumption from us, and the toilet flapper isn't leaking or anything.... :|

This coming from the city that knocked over our mailbox with snowplows over a year ago during a snow/ice storm and did absolutely nothing about it when we complained. Of course, we had to buy a new one and install it at our expense. Still kinda mad about that :x

Ouch... not sure I'd want to live in tooba-town!

What happened then? Did they lower the threshold for what is considered "high consumption"?

We don't have a clue :!:
bloke wrote: One of my (adult) children and their family (with children) moved to a new city due to a better job.
They moved from an area known for less water to an area known for more water.
Now (even with the higher income), the water bills are so high, that they (incl. kids) only bathe two or three times each week.
Not surprisingly, they moved from a state known for more freedom to one known for less.
Depriving people of water in various ways (such as the long term intentional/engineered shortage out west) is one very effective way that "the state" will be using to herd "the people".
Our water bills/utilities and property taxes go up nearly every year; it's ridiculous. We have wanted to "get out" of the city because of this bullshit (and bad traffic), and instead, live in a close-by town or community without the city's bullshit. But we are "trapped" where we are due to the still-bad economy. Noone is buying, and if they are, they want it for much less than it's worth. And it would be a HUGE hassle to move all our crap somewhere else :!:

Where is this?

Fortunately, there are a LOT of places in the US that are beautiful, have abundant resources, and enjoy the freedom we all deserve. Sure, every place has its own problems (including JOBS), and it's not reasonable for people to pick up and move there on a whim... but at the least, it's reassuring to know these places still exist!
