The first picture looks like a "stretched f tuba" or euphonium, so the conductor will really hear you when it's time to play. I'm leaning towards f tuba. or a contrabass herald trumpet in F :)

Although interesting, I would find this to be very difficult to play in terms of space and holding it. I think transporting it would be difficult too. I guess I'm to practical.

The assembled length of a REAL Alphorn is about 13 1/2 feet for F and 13 feet for Gb . Most of them I've seen are in two or three sections. Kurt Ott has an interesting Facebook page:

That was a sweet piece he played. If not necessarily practical, it has a nice sound I wouldn't mind for jazz or the like
