Hey! Anybody played the Music Man on bass trombone?
I am doing it now, and the soli in Shipoopi (part 1) is kickin' my butt! (Not being a 'slide guy' by nature!)
Any help out there?

I've played bass bone in active duty AF Band and with Cecil Welch stuff here in Atlanta. played bass bone basically from 1977 til now with various orchestras and big bands, shows etc. I might possibly be able to help you. PM me with what you're dealing with if you want.

I played it years ago, but I also played a small Eb on a few pieces- the Wells Fargo bit, a small part of Shipoopi, the last big number,...
Is that the part playing with the bari sax? Sorry, I think I played that on Eb.

Yes! It's the part with barI sax! Oy!
I thought about using a tuba, but the change would be too quick, and I think that the sudden mega-mouthpiece size shift would be more than I can handle.

I hated playing the trombone part for that show. Hated it less on a valve trombone.
