Great sound, THE best rotary valves I've played. That's all I can say...

I have played a couple of them, but never for an extended period of time. I would put it towards the top of the rotary valve tubas I have played in sound quality. I do like the shorter bell. I don't know if it sounds better or if it's just that the bell is closer to your ear. Either way, it's worth a try, although I like the piston valve 1291 better. Both can take a lot of air to play, at least that's how they felt to me, but the 1291 didn't seem to take as much.
