Reunited, and it feels so good!

Post by Frank Ortega »

I lent my 1935 HN White "Cadet" BBb Sousaphone to a friend for a year when I decided to stop playing parades.
Upon it's return, said friend had it cleaned and aligned by Matt at Dillon Music. I added on my Martin Wilk lightweight
finger buttons, and it plays better than ever! I've only seen a few of this model before, mostly you see the "Standards" or the "Symphony". I've even seen more "Giants" then I've seen "Cadets"! This is undoubtedly, one of the best Tubas I've ever played.
Great intonation, easy response, and a great punch from the little 22" hand hammered bell.
Actually, this is the instrument I've owned the longest (27 years), and the one I've made the most money with.

It will not leave my possession again! 8)

If you want to hear this baby live, I'll be playing it tonight with:
Cactus Salad, an afro/cuban Jazz Ensemble at
the Blue Moon Cafe in Englewood, NJ at 10 pm.
