Testing

Post by NS Tuba »

Hello All.

Is there a good place to test different models of tubas? I live on the East coast (Canada) and would like to find a place where some tubas might be in stock. Boston perhaps?

I know Dillon music usually has some in NYC but I thought I might save some time and expense if there is something closer.

Thanks!

Baltimore Brass is like 4-6 hours south of Dillon's (which is in NJ, not NYC) and would not be closer to Canada. I do highly recommend them, though.

Buffet Group has a showroom in NYC as well.

What kind of tubas are you looking to try?

Yes I did know that Baltimore is further south than NYC but I still can't believe I forgot to look them up.

Not sure what I'm looking for yet. I'm still researching and I thought I would see if there were good places north of NYC where I might be able to try some out.

Thanks again!

Just thought of this. I do have some idea of what I'm looking for but still very preliminary. I want a CC and I'm leaning toward something in the 5/4 size (I think). I currently play on a 186. Still in the basic stages I know but after reading my last post, it might have appeared that I really didn't know what I was looking for.
