I have it but I use Netscape for my email. Thunderbird is very similar to Netscape mail. I would switch, but I have everything saved on Netscape mail. If I ever clean everything out or my system crashes and loses everthing, I'll switch. I'm planning to buy a new computer by Christmas and will use Firefox and Thunderbird only.

My buddy uses this mail client and really likes it. Outlook is pretty horrible, so comparing it to anything is like comparing a ten-year old geo metro to a limosine. Thats just my opinion anyway (and the opinion of many better informed individuals out there). I also use firefox as a browser and am more than happy with it. If you arent familiar with it, check it out. Definately.

I use Thunderbird and like it a lot. Look and feel are not too different from outlook so getting used to it is easy. The only downside is that the newsgroup section needs some more development.
The biggest plus of course is that, since most virusses are targeted at outlook vulnerabilities, you don't have to worry about virus infections that much. :) The extensions and themes are nice as well, of course, as is the possibility to mark mails as spam (and teaching the system to recognize them in the future).

I use Thunderbird. It's OK, but I'm tempted to go back to Mozilla. I like the tighter integration of the browser and mail tool. One thing I miss in T-bird is being able to open links in a new window or new tab on demand. T-bir only gives me one or the other, but now way to choose on the fly like Mozilla does.

Can't compare to Lookout, since I've newer used it for more than a quick mail check when mozilla wasn't available (say somone else's computer). I wouldn't use anything for Micro$oft if I didn't have too. I only have M$ Windoze for my wife's apps that don't work with Wine, and a few work requirements.

Which version of netscape?

FWIW, I've had no trouble moving for Netscape to Mozilla, and recently to T-bird. No lost mail, all filters migrated. I think even the read/unread/replied status migrated form Mozill to T-bird.

The old stuff remains in case you want top go back too. A very reversable migration.

OK, that mozilla based. So your already using the same code. Everything should move over smoothly. If it was 4.x it's a little iffy.

The same people that created Netscape created Mozilla. Thats why they are similar.
Yep, knew that already :)
