I heard the Grant Park orchestra doing their July 4 program yesterday via WFMT on web radio. Lots of opportunity for tuba to sound great, and Fritz certainly did! I am nostalgic for those band-type patriotic programs--pieces like American Salute, National Emblem, Stars and Stripes, 1812, George M. Cohan, Gershwin Concerto in F, then some schlock. It's not quite the same in Canada. Bravo Fritz.

Re: Fritz Kaenzig
My teacher, Chris Blaha, was subbing in for him this summer... I'm fairly certain that wasn't him.

Oops, my mistake. He and the orchestra sounded great, though.michael_glenn wrote:My teacher, Chris Blaha, was subbing in for him this summer... I'm fairly certain that wasn't him.
