A beautiful new solo by Terry Treherne and his first score for winds, recorded live at Maida Vale Studio 1 with the BBC Winds on a Willson 2900.

Recollections won 1st. prize in the recent Northop Festival!

Placings and winners of the various sections of the competition were chosen
by Paul Mealor and Brett Baker and were announced at the concert. The
results were:

Best Junior Band Composition: "Circus March" by Gerry McColl (England)

Best Youth Band Composition: "The Old Tower" by John Dutton (Wales)

Best Original Solo composition: "Recollections for Euphonium" by Terry
Treherne (England)

Best arrangement: "Carol of the Bells" by J. Aaron Stanley (USA)

Best original March for Senior Band: "The Launching" by A G Bartelds
(Holland)

Best Original Composition: "Lively Music" by Frank Hughes (England)

The overall winner of the composition contest was voted for on the weekend
and receives an opportunity to have their work published by MMI music and
for their piece to be played at next years festival concert by a chosen
guest band in March 2006. The overall winner of Northop Festivals Composers
Competition was:
Terry Treherne with his Euphonium Solo composition "Recollections"

The runner up was Frank Hughes for his Composition "Lively Music".

Thank you for sharing some beautiful music. I recently found the "Play Artist Radio" button and have had your music playing softly in my office. It makes working much more pleasant. This one (Recollections) and Indian Point Rhapsody are two of my favorites.
