I was hoping someone who owns or has access to this model (Yamaha YBB 103) tuba with an original case would be kind enough to please provide me with the exterior dimesions of the case.
The weight (with the tuba inside) would be helpful also.
I need to know this fo shipping purposes.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Case Dimensions for a YBB103 Tuba
I have a couple of those 'critters'.
The horn weighs about 15 pounds.
The plastic molded case is 35" long x 22" wide x 16" thick (across the bell end). It weighs about 10 pounds.
The wooden case is about the same size but weighs about 15 pounds.
Both cases are genuine Yamaha. Just different eras.
The weights might be a tad on the 'light' side as I used a plain old bathroom scales.

Simple answer - yes. I do it all the time, the main horn shape is identical and the valves are close enough similar position to work.tclements wrote:Will the case for a YFB621 fit a ybb103?

The 103 will also fit, with about 1/32" to spare, into the molded plywood case supplied with the 60s-era Getzen "baby" contrabass bugle. Not that that's gonna help a guy in Australia.
