I've recently found that sometimes while buzzing I begin to make noise. It does not happen all the time. I think it is coming from my voice box. Does any one have experience with this and can offer a solution?

Re: Making noise in throat while buzzing on mouhtpiece
It's actually a very common problem.
1) You might be 'coughing' out the notes instead of using your tongue to shape the fronts.
2) You might be subconsciously singing along with your tuba playing.
3) You might be employing the 'valsalva maneuver' and adding resistance to the airstream at the throat as a result.
A well formed *simple* daily routine that breaks things down to a level where you "can't screw it up" and have infinite brain space to pay attention to how you are using your body is the only real solution.
Too long didn't read: You should probably take lessons with an accomplished player that understands what you are doing.

Just go with the flow.
American sailboats, airplanes, banjos, guitars and flutes ...
Italian motorcycles and cars ...
German cameras and tubas ...
