Hi everyone,
I am looking for any information regarding a Contrabass Trombone in Bflat, with a double slide, made in Bielefeld. "Bethel" appears on the bell. No triggers, and a tuba mouthpiece fits perfectly .
Does anyone have any information on it? A possible selling price? Present day usage?

I once had a Ernst David Bielefeld tuba. Nice little 4v 3/4 Bb. There were several other brass instrument manufacturers in Bielefeld Germany around the turn of the century. Bethel is a Southwesterly suburb of Bielefeld, so I suspect your horn was made there. There may have been only one manufacturer there or several. It would be hard to tell who actually made the horn. The design is consistant with Contras of the first half of the 20th century. There are some historians on this board that may well be able to add to my information.
