My Favorite Practice Room
It's hard to beat the scenery. Acoustics are pretty good too.

Duluth is nice.
I visited there while the lake wasn't frozen!!

Mine is about 40 miles from your spot, on the dock. The loons think I'm one of them.

This isn't in Duluth. It's 15 mines north of Grand Marais off the Gunflint Trail. And yes, the leaves are starting to turn.

I spent some time in Minnesota this summer. It's an impressive, very likable place. As for the winter, well . . .

Re: My Favorite Practice Room
Kinda reminds me of Ann Arbor - fall, spring and summer was beautiful, very few humid days (like in NJ). Winter, well, I do remember one evening leaving the grad library thinking I would answer my hunger pangs by walking two blocks over to State Street for a couple of slices until the minus 1 temp began to (quickly) permeate my layers of clothing. Right to the bus stop. There was a trombone player in the Michigan Marching Band from MN, wore a sweatshirt the last two weeks of the season when most were bundled (BUNDLED) up, told me the weather was no big deal.
