I have a matching set of silver Buescher sousaphones--a three valve and a four valve. They both play very well. The four valve is a little heavy for parades.
However, I only have one third valve between the two horns. A kind repairman found a third valve for me, and my car got stolen with the third valve still in it. I got the car back, minus the valve and one shoe of a pair I had in the car. If I ever see a one-legged sousaphone player wearing my shoe and playing a Buescher, maybe I can recover that damn valve.
Does anyone have an extra Buescher third valve they would like to sell?

Re: Buescher Jumbo sousaphone
My horns are regular size, not jumbos, but play with nice large sounds. The four valve, in particular, has a lot of brass in it. PM sent on valve.

I bought one of those jumbo Buescher sousaphones a long time ago. I don't remember where I bought it - probably out of the back of a pick-up truck. The valves were leaky. I put thick oil on it and got the valves to the point that they would "pop". I really didn't care for the way it played, but I've never felt comfortable playing any of the various jumbo sousaphones. (I guess I'm not man enough or something...) I sold it about a twelve years ago (as-is with dents and leaky valves) to someone who was in town from New Orleans to play at his friend's funeral. I probably sold it for about $800. They look really cool...All of the Buescher tubas and sousaphones are beautiful. Obviously, I like some of the Buescher models, which have great potential.
