I'd like to see more of them myself.
I played a 3/4 front action model at the Army Tuba Conference but haven't heard a thing about it since.
The 2341 copy was nice too.

Re: Andreas Eastman Symphonic Model BBb
Does the Eastman have the same goofy 4th valve tubing arrangement as the King?
I am referring to the water trap just under the 4th piston and the unfortunate lack of an accessible-on-the-fly 4th valve tuning slide.
The Chinese King clones that I saw at the tuba conference had even smaller bore than Kings, and had leadpipes bent to put the mouthpiece at a very awkward angle. I suppose some people like to blow uphill, but it's very uncomfortable for me.
I wish someone would make a King clone with .750 bore, a sensible 4th valve tubing arrangement, and the same receiver position and angle as the real King.

Hey,
I really like the Eastman BBb (King style). It plays really open and has a good response.
I LOVE the 632 CC (played it tonight on a gig in fact).
That being said, I am an Eastman artist, but I don't get paid for people buying their horns or anything like that.
They have 19 (I think) factories in China that they own, and there are 4 (I thinks maybe 2) in the US. I know when my 632 come over from China it went first to theUS factory to be checked, then to Matt Walters for further checking and it's awesome.

Hey,
The CC (632) is about the same size as a Conn 5Xj, maybe that's what you were thinking of.
The next things they are working on are a front action Eb and an F tuba.
They will also be tweaking their sousaphone soon too.

Re: Andreas Eastman Symphonic Model BBb
Eastman EBB-562 is a 4 rotor BBb that looks a lot like a B&S GR-51L. 17.75" upright bell and 4 rotor valves of .748" bore. I've sold 3 so far and have 2 on back-order for customers. Call or email your Eastman dealer (like Dillon Music) to get the real price instead of silly MAP price. This tuba is so new, Eastman doesn't have it on the website yet. This tuba is very in-tune with a big sound and doesn't suck up all your air like the big bore tubas do. Keep an ear out for this one, too.

One of my students is now using the Eastman EBB-562 rotary BBb and it is an excellent instrument. It also comes with a decent soft case making it a great value altogether.
