Re: OFFICIAL LIST of horns/players that won a job
Do people really believe that horns win jobs?

I wouldn't think people necessarily believe that. I think this post is more less just showing who won what job with what equipment out of pure interest. It is interesting to see what horns have have won jobs!sloan wrote:Do people really believe that horns win jobs?

ECUorchbound, you're absolutely right. There is no underhanded motive here for the thread, just a good old fashioned compilation of horn/player victories.

As well as the HB-50 Perry uses a Hirsbrunner piston F (I'm not sure of the exact model)tkdchamp2021 wrote:Does anyone know what horn Perry Hoogendijk uses in the Concertgebouw?

If it's interesting after all that time......
I won my job (in 1983) on a Piggy - for everything. How times (and expectations) have changed...

Re: OFFICIAL LIST of horns/players that won a job
But how many of these horns are used by folks who have already won their auditions? Looks to me like a considerable number. Not the point, I know, but still . . .

I think the price of the Yamaha 826 is what is preventing their sales, but then again, those that need it are in a niche market and if they need it, they'll pay for it.tuben wrote:...

I think it would be interesting to track this same statistic across people winning college teaching jobs.

Chris Tiedeman won (earned) the President's Own position on his Getzen G-50. This was in 2001-2002.

Horns are listed with "nothing", and Piggies are ignored. Blasphemy!cambrook wrote:If it's interesting after all that time......

A degree which is, significantly I reckon, only awarded honoris causa.Biggs wrote:this one:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E1%B9%AC%C5%ABb%C4%81 might come with a doctorate of divinitybloke wrote:Which tubas include terminal college degrees?Douglas wrote:I think it would be interesting to track this same statistic across people winning college teaching jobs.
