Do tell how you know it was "literally" made from scrapped Panzers.GregTuba79 wrote:I also owned a 62' but in BBb..the thing was literally made out of scrap metal from the old German Panzers from WW2 they found abandoned. Great playing horns! Probably the best...

Hi-
When I am home practicing on my old CC Mirafone and the sunlight hits it, I can see the reddish tint in the horn.....I would think your horn, like mine, has very good metal ( more copper) in the brass composition. My horn reminds me of the Alex CC I sold to Dave Kirk after he won the Houston gig....when I would play an outdoor gig on that horn and lay it down on the grass at a break, it looked like a red brass horn against the green grass.
I think it is the 'great' metal in these horns...besides other factors in their construction...that separates the early Mirafones from others with 'that special sound.'
