Hello, everyone!
I own a Conn 4J BBb tuba from ca. 1959 that was given to me by a former teacher, and I'd like to finally get around to restoring it to a better playing condition. It actually plays quite well, but the bell has a ring around the middle point of the flare where it had been dropped by a previous owner and poorly patched up. I think it might be salvageable, but in the off chance that it is not, I want to see if anyone out there might have a lead on a bell to replace it. The bell measures approximately 12.75" at the ferrule, and I'd like to get a bell that is reasonably close to the original Conn bell. I'll upload some photos soon, but it appears to be in completely original shape. I'd like to get it back to 100% playing condition in the next year or so--it really is a nice little instrument, and I'd like to incorporate it into the stable.
Thanks!
