congrats on your new axe,
just a note after reading your post. You really should reconsider the piece that your going to use with your 1291.
The two that you mentioned, the Marzan and the Bach, both fine pieces, but really are not right for the 1291. You need a mouth piece with a Euro shank. The Euro shank is bigger that either of the two that you mentioned. There are several makers out there that make a Euro shank piece. GW, Laskey,
Miraphone, and many more. I don't know what piece they sent with the horn. They usually try to put a "larger piece"
with the C tubas but since there are so many different ones,
they don't know what you'll need. At least they include one.
I've done extensive testing with the 1291 and I certainly would not tell you this in a public forum if I didn't think it was important..
