Clean recording of Santa wants a Tuba..

Post by groovlow »

I'm looking for a clean recording of Santa Wants a Tuba for Christmas
I've been searching youtube, lots of results but ... most of them are poorly recorded or incomplete.
An audio link would be most helpful.
Thanks
Joe

There is a TubaChristmas CD that the Harvey Philips foundation sells, or at least used to sell.

I don't own it, but bought a copy for my parents like 20 years ago. The song, sung by Harvey himself is on that CD.

Yeah, the only good recording I've heard of this is on the Tuba Christmas CD.

This is my new favourite song. Just got the sheet music, can't stop playing it. :tuba:

Thank you so much!

I was the TubaChristmas coordinator for our performance this year, and the merchandise order form I received from the Harvey Phillips Foundation had the TubaChristmas CD on the list. I have one from years ago, and Mr. Phillips does indeed contribute the vocals. I'm guessing if you contacted them, they would sell you one.

Harvey sang it several times during Baltimore TubaChristmases. Even in the last times that he was there, in his wheelchair, he could still belt it out!

Yes, the Harvey Phillips Foundation sells the TubaChristmas CD which has the recording of Santa Wants A Tuba For Christmas. I wrote it back in 1992 for us to use with the Harvey Phillips TubaSantas. Harvey sang it and I overdubbed the euphonium and tuba parts.

I have arranged it for many performance combinations: The original version, tuba/euphonium ensemble, tuba/euphonium quartet, brass quintet, band, orchestra, and choir. I arranged them so that all of these versions can be done together in any combination.

The music is available from Bewley Music: http://www.tubachristmas.com/bewley.html" target="_blank" target="_blank

Glad you enjoy it! I miss hearing Harvey perform it...
